King Ferdinand's Royal Hideaway

This luxurious room is tucked away on the 2nd floor of the main house of our inn in Fernandina Beach. This room provides a quiet and cozy retreat featuring a gorgeous king-size bed with silky gold bedding and a dresser of English mahogany. The room, which is pale blue, features a gas fireplace and gold suede side chairs that create a nice place to read or chat by the fire. Wonderful views of the gardens and courtyard can be seen through the room’s west and south-facing windows. The spacious private bath has a whirlpool tub with shower, signature spa robes, Gilchrist & Soames fine soaps & shampoo. Additional amenities include hair dryer, iron and ironing board, cable, flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, complimentary bikes and beach towels, individual climate control for A/C & heat and ceiling fan.

A gourmet breakfast is served each morning, and complimentary beverages and cookies are available all day.

A bit of history… George Clark, a surveyor general for East Florida loved Amelia Island, Florida. He convinced Spanish Governor White that the post and town spreading around it needed a plan. In May of 1811, he was appointed to carry out a plan to align the streets and measure the lots. Governor White proclaimed that the town be called Fernandina in honor of King Ferdinand VII Catholic Monarch of Spain.
