The queen size bed is custom made from antique wooden architectural columns with a head board made of antique windows. A soft velvety comforter of pastel green covers the bed. Relax by the fireplace in our cozy sitting area or read that novel you've been saving by the wicker desk in the bay window. Private bath with whirlpool tub/shower.

Chloe Merrick was eager to help educate the many freed men liberated by the Civil War. She arrived on Amelia and opened a school in the Episcopal Church. Harrison Reed was so impressed with her school that he helped her purchase General Finegan's abandoned home for an orphanage. Reed became Governor of Florida and married Chloe in August of 1869.
