Autumn is beautiful here on the island and there are many activities, festivals and sites to explore.
The history of our village is one of our “specialties” here at the Williams House and we love to share it! Fernandina Beach is the birth place of the modern shrimping industry and we love the twinkling of lights in the evening of our local shrimpers. Many local restaurants showcase these fresh shrimp on their menus. Mmmmm!

Beach Combing on Amelia Island

October 18th, 2012

Visit the beautiful beaches of Amelia Island this fall and you will feel that you are on your own private beach. The hustle and bustle of vacationers on school break, sun worshippers and surfers are far and few between as the temperatures become more mild.

It is a wonderful time to stroll the sands and watch the shrimp boats and dolphins bobbing in the sea as you collect seashells.

Our beaches are also famous for fossilized shark teeth! You might be lucky enough to nab a megaladon which is a tooth of the biggest prehistoric shark / marine creature in the history of the planet that ever lived even outweighing the modern great white shark!

Happy Hunting!

We feel priveledged to be part of this unique group and enjoy acquainting guests with the loyalty program.

Here’s how it works….

Each night you stay with a select registry property earns one Golden Quill. When you have stayed twelve times you receive a gift certificate for $100 from Select Registry that can be redeemed at any SR member Inn in North America. As a special bonus they recently added the opportunity to receive one Golden Quill free when you sign up for the Golden Quill Rewards through their Facebook page after your first stay. Previous stays can also be confirmed and utilized toward the 12 Golden Quills. If you are not a facebook user just sign up for the loyalty program after your first stay on the Select Registry website.

Feel free to tell your facebook friends about this great program and see if they “poke” you for letting them know. Once you create your account start accumulating your stays at SR properties..and of course we reccommend you start here at the Williams House! This is just one more perk for choosing us and represents our promise to provide an excellent stay experience.
